About the Role:We're looking for a data-driven, analytical Associate Product Developer to support our Senior Product Developer in building a strong product pipeline and expanding our SKU portfolio across Amazon, Shopify (DTC), and other e-commerce channels.
This role helps build and manage product pipelines by coordinating research, validation support, supplier communication, sampling iterations, specification documentation, and cross-functional handoffs to ensure products reach order-ready status efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
1. Omnichannel Product Development- Support product research, validation, and competitor analysis to spot strong opportunities across Amazon and DTC.
- Turn product ideas into clear requirements and documentation: materials, dimensions, function, quality standards, and packaging requirements.
- Create and maintain spec sheets so suppliers can execute accurately across sampling rounds.
- Help manage timelines and keep projects moving by coordinating with relevant departments.
2. Supplier Research, RFQ & Negotiation- Research, identify, and vet new suppliers for new product opportunities, based on required capabilities, quality standards, and target costs.
- Lead RFQs for new projects by gathering and comparing quotes (unit cost, customization options, MOQ, lead times, packaging capability, shipping/payment terms) to ensure profitability and feasibility.
- Drive initial supplier discussions and negotiations to secure best-value terms like pricing tiers, MOQ flexibility, tooling/mold cost handling, packaging optimization, lead time commitments, payment terms, inclusions, and sampling requirements.
- Manage supplier communication, project discussions, and follow-ups to reduce cycle time and ensure clarity of requirements and deliverables.
3. Analytical & Data Management- Support profitability and landed cost analysis, factoring in different fee structures like Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) vs Shopify 3PL (Third-Party Logistics).
- Utilize Helium 10, Jungle Scout, and Shopify Analytics to identify market gaps and track competitor movement.
- Maintain accurate product development trackers and ensure documentation is complete for downstream teams.
Required Experience & Skills
- 24 years experience in product development, sourcing, or supplier coordination within e-commerce/consumer products.
- Experience working with Amazon Seller Central and Shopify (Shopify Plus is a plus). Familiarity with TikTok Shop or Walmart Marketplace is a plus.
- Proven experience communicating with international manufacturers (China and/or Southeast Asia) and managing sampling cycles.
- Strong working knowledge of Helium 10, Jungle Scout, and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and cost modeling).
- Solid understanding of landed cost fundamentals (product cost, packaging, freight, duties, and fulfillment fees).
