Position Summary:
The Associate Director is responsible for managing a team in developing, executing, and monitoring strategic and tactical cross channel media plans for clients. This position supports the business through creative and innovative solutions to clients.
Eseential Functions:
- Lead strategic and tactical planning activities with oversight responsibilities and act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and internal/external partners.
- Manage the use of proprietary and syndicated tools.
- Engage with research partners to execute all measurement and learning plans.
- Review and evaluation of proposals from media partners.
- Ensure continual growth and training of junior team members, and identify strengths and opportunities for team development.
- Oversee and steward competitive reporting process.
- Manage and be accountable for budgets with team, oversee reports and client billing.
- Compile and updates regular status reports.
- Accountable for building, developing, implementing and maintaining integrated client media plans that deliver against objectives/strategies; proactively investigate media opportunities and craft well supported, articulate points – of – view.
- Work with relevant internal and external teams or partners for non-paid media requirements, eg: website management and analytics, EDM, Social Media Management, Content, etc to provide holistic perspective and integrated recommendations to deliver against clients business and marketing objectives.
- Responsibility for the quality of work and smooth operation of the account.
- Actively drive the planning process and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Manage a staff of media professionals. Develop the staff through performance management and consistent feedback. Identify with staff developmental opportunities that will help them to work toward their professional goals.
- Manage human resource administration, which includes: maintaining staff levels through effective recruiting, performance management and conflict resolution.
- Set realistic client expectations and make every effort to exceed them, by providing quality work in a timely and responsive manner.
Education/Certifications: Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in Planning with strong ability to lead the media planning process.
- 2+ years of experience in managing or developing a staff.
Skills:
- Extensive experience writing and presenting relevant information.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop programs, specifically with Excel.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.
- Media Tools experience a plus.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors.
