Experience Required: 15+ years in BPO, with at least 45 years in a senior managerial or leadership role and 3 to 5 years in RCM
Job Summary:The Associate Director RCM Operations is responsible for overseeing and leading day-to-day operations across the revenue cycle functions including medical billing, coding, charge entry, payment posting, accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, denials management, and patient collections. The role will ensure KPIs are met, identify and drive process improvements, ensure compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines, and lead a high-performing team to deliver superior RCM outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage RCM operations across all functions (billing, coding, AR, denials, and collections).
- Set departmental goals aligned with company objectives and monitor team performance against KPIs and SLAs.
- Drive initiatives to improve first-pass claim acceptance, reduce AR days, and improve cash collections.
- Collaborate with clients, payers, and internal stakeholders to resolve escalated issues and optimize processes.
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA, and internal company policies.
- Support onboarding and transition of new clients into RCM operations.
- Partner with IT and automation teams to implement tools/technologies (e.g., RPA, AI/ML) for workflow improvement.
- Mentor and guide managers, team leads, and frontline staff to promote professional development and operational excellence.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, root cause analyses, and strategy updates to senior leadership.
- Identify gaps, lead continuous improvement efforts, and streamline operations across the revenue cycle.
- Work with quality and training teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and upskilling within the team.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field (master's preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years in RCM operations with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end revenue cycle processes in the US healthcare system.
- Experience managing large teams (100+ FTEs) in a BPO/KPO or healthcare provider setting.
- Proven ability to meet/exceed collection targets and performance metrics.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with EMR/PM systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athena), RCM tools, and analytics dashboards.
Preferred Skills:- Certification in Medical Billing/Coding (e.g., AAPC or AHIMA) is a plus.
- Experience in implementing automation or digital transformation initiatives in RCM.
