About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead the technical delivery, design quality, project coordination and team performance of building services projects. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, people leadership and the ability to work closely with Australian and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering, design and BIM resources across multiple projects.
- Oversee the technical delivery and quality of designs, drawings and project deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership on complex, high-profile building services projects.
- Manage project scope, risks, resources, utilisation and delivery performance.
- Support project estimates, proposals, cost tracking and commercial activities.
- Work closely with Australian counterparts and global stakeholders to meet client expectations and resolve project issues.
- Lead and mentor technical teams, supporting capability development, performance and career progression.
- Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned and innovative approaches to project delivery.
- Contribute to regional business strategy, market development and three-year strategic planning.
- Support financial and non-financial performance analysis and broader office/region initiatives.
- Represent the business with clients, industry organisations and key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects and team activities comply with relevant legislation, standards, company policies and Australian requirements.
- Support recruitment, remuneration, performance management and other people-related decisions within delegated authority.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Professional registration/chartership within the relevant jurisdiction.
- 15+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within building services or a related technical discipline.
- Strong experience applying Australian and international engineering standards, particularly Australian codes.
- Proven experience leading large technical teams and delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Recognised technical expertise with the ability to provide high-level technical guidance across a range of projects.
- Strong understanding of project scope, commercial management, risk, quality and client delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of Digital Engineering/BIM, interdisciplinary coordination and constructability.
- Strong capability with relevant modelling, analytical and digital engineering tools.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve project efficiency.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
