About the Client
One of Southeast Asia's leading e-commerce platforms, operating a fast-growing marketplace business here in the Philippines. They are backed by a regional tech giant with a strong presence across e-commerce, digital entertainment, and fintech.
The Role
We are looking for qualified lawyers to join the legal team across multiple openings. Depending on your experience and interest, you will be considered for one of the following focus areas:
- Commercial Contract – Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements across the business
- Disputes & Compliance – Handling labor, employment, and consumer disputes, and regulatory compliance matters
- Fintech Corporate – Advising on fintech, payments, banking, and digital financial services matters
Role-Specific Responsibilities
1. For Commercial Contract:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on vendor, service, partnership, procurement, marketing, and technology-related contracts
- Provide legal advice on commercial and corporate matters, balancing legal risks with business objectives
2. For Disputes & Compliance:
- Handle labor and employment disputes, including illegal dismissal, labor-only contracting, and other employee-related cases
- Manage consumer disputes and regulatory compliance matters involving the platform
- Represent the company in proceedings before DOLE, NLRC, and other tribunals
3. For Fintech Corporate:
- Advise business stakeholders on legal and regulatory requirements relating to digital payments, fintech, financial services, and data privacy
- Support the launch of new products and initiatives by identifying legal risks and providing practical, business-oriented solutions
Qualifications
Essential:
- Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the Philippines / Called to the Bar
- Approximately 3–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills
- Ability to provide practical, commercially sound legal advice in a fast-paced business environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal team
Added Advantage:
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, technology, e-commerce, telecommunications, or other highly regulated industries
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance matters relating to financial services and digital products
