The Global Regulatory Change Management Framework Team delivers support to an enterprise-wide Regulatory Change Management (RCM) which provides a framework for Northern Trust's work in response to changes in our statutory and regulatory obligations. The Associate Consultant role for the Global Regulatory Change Management Framework Team supports the RCM with a focus on identifying regulatory changes through horizon scanning and other duties.
Major Duties:
- Provides day-to-day support and guidance to more junior team members, support the team supervisor with respect to tasks distribution and ensuring the effective use of staff resources
- Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
- On occasion upon delegation by the team supervisor/manager, support with managing daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees (but not a formal management role)
- Technically sound expertise in area of Regulatory Change/Development Compliance and has broader knowledge of other areas.
- Delivers quality output that requires minimal revision.
- Reviews regulatory change notifications from global regulators for initial determination of applicability, rationalization, and to assign next steps.
- Effectively communicates with stakeholders
- Conduct quality assurance across BWise triaging
- Helps with compiling and maintaining regulatory development status tracking for Compliance governance committee reporting and to identify/escalate issues.
- Works closely with 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders globally to drive efficiencies, support the sustainability of the Framework, and consider technology future state, establish strong working relationships in all regions.
- Leads and contributes on bespoke project requests.
- Reviews existing systems, processes, and recommends where system functionality, automation or improved processes can be implemented. Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents.
- Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Uses prescribed guidelines/policies/procedures in analyzing situations to solve standard problems.
- Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team
- Participates in all applicable training.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Requires a good understanding of regional regulations and relevant laws.
- Requires strong ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and effective manner (verbal and written).
- Requires 2 years of experience providing compliance advisory and operational support.
- Requires proactivity and minimal supervision.
- Requires attention to detail.
- Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline.

Experience:
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
- At least 5 years of compliance/risk management/regulatory experience, specific experience with PowerApps tool and advance Microsoft Office skills is a plus.
- Experience in Compliance with any financial institution; basic understanding of compliance programs. Experience supporting global compliance programs a plus.
- Any relevant financial certifications are preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience
