Job Overview:
- The Associate Bookkeeper (AU) is responsible for delivering bookkeeping and accounting services to assigned clients, including daily transaction processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts receivable and accounts payable management, month-end close activities, and preparation of supporting workpapers. The role requires direct interaction with clients, ownership of assigned engagements, and the ability to work independently while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality service delivery.

- Weekly Onsite Schedule from 1st to 3rd month
- Every two weeks onsite from 4th to 6th month
- Once a month onsite after probationary period (6 months)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process daily financial transactions using Xero and other accounting systems as required.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including sales invoicing and monitoring outstanding balances.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including recording supplier invoices and payment support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for assigned clients.
- Assist in the monthly closing of books and preparation of financial reports.
- Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial documentation required for month-end reporting, BAS/IAS lodgments, year-end compliance requirements, and other client reporting obligations.
- Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are complete, organized, and maintained in accordance with company standards.
- Provide ad hoc bookkeeping and accounting support as required by clients or management.
- Manage assigned client engagements independently, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of bookkeeping and accounting services.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining professional and responsive communication.
- Gather, review, and follow up on client information and documentation required to complete engagement deliverables.
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and client service.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial records, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date client accounting records and ensure supporting documentation is complete and properly organized.
- Prepare and deliver workpapers, reconciliations, and schedules for month-end reporting, BAS/IAS preparation, and other compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and client-specific procedures and requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiencies, and add value to client engagements.
- Support practice administration activities, including job management, documentation maintenance, and workflow coordination.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and managers to address client needs and ensure successful engagement outcomes.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with law firm accounting or professional service firms.
- Familiarity with payroll platforms and cloud-based accounting systems.
- Experience in an outsourced accounting environment.
