Position Summary
The AVP – Merchandising (Hardware) oversees strategy and execution for the hardware category, focusing on assortment, sales performance, vendor management, pricing, inventory, and team leadership to drive growth and improve the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies for the hardware category to drive sales, profit, and market share.
- Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations, pricing, and supply agreements.
- Oversee product assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory to meet customer needs and support business goals.
- Coordinate with supply chain and marketing teams to ensure optimal stock levels and effective category promotions.
- Lead, coach, and develop the merchandising team to achieve KPIs and performance targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
- 8–10 years of experience in merchandising or category management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong background in hardware, tools, home improvement, or related retail categories.
- Proven expertise in category growth, vendor negotiation, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in merchandising systems, ERP, and Microsoft Office.
