Your Role, Your Impact

The AVP for Engineering is responsible for the oversight and day to day managing of the Project Engineering, and Construction Management of all development projects within his/her assigned region. Ensures project completion with Quality and within time and budget.

Your Main responsibilities:

  • Performs as Committee lead assigned by the Head of Engineering Department
  • Coordinate with the various department committees to improve work efficiency
  • Take full responsibility and accountability over the assigned projects
  • Ensure that all cost and time related concerns are discussed with the Engineering VP and obtained approval before execution
  • Possess the capacity to lead, influence and coach a team

Pre-construction Phase responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Cluster Head of the Project Development Group assigned to the Project, seek official confirmation on the commencement of the development
  • By using the approved manpower requirement allocation, coordinate with the Project Control Officer on manpower requirement/s for project deployment
  • In coordination with the Cluster Head, or its representative from the Project Development Group, Quantity surveying and Procurement Group (QSPG) of the department, ensure that the Project Authorization Order (PAO) is submitted and approved on time
  • Ensure to present to higher management and/or assigned Committee, detailed plan to implement the project/s construction giving consideration on the effects of all factors such as project risk, procurement, contractors, project stakeholders, government requirements, etc.
  • Conduct site inspection and determine the current condition of the project site and surrounding areas that will have n significant impact on the construction execution
  • In coordination with Engineering Design Management and Review Group, ensure that all technical due diligence studies area available and in the possession of engaged engineering consultants
  • In coordination with the Project Management Sr. Manager and/or Project Management Manager, shall ensure that all project secured copies of approved Plans, Design & Specifications, Contract agreements, Letter of Awards, Notice to Proceed, and all related documents that will enable the project to execute contract management orderly
  • Other necessary Pre-construction phases activities that needs to be accomplished, addressed by the AVP for Engineering

Construction Phase responsibilities:

  • Ensure to present to higher management and/or assigned committee, plan to implement the project/s construction giving consideration on the effects of all factors such as project risk, procurement, contractors, project stakeholders, government requirements, etc.
  • Be able to anticipate and discuss construction challenges that may compromise the intended schedule, budget, minimum, quality standards and safety then provide technical recommendations to alleviate it
  • Mandate the compliance of each project on timely submission of weekly and monthly reports including periodic percent of completion (POC) certification required of Accounting Reports and validate legitimacy
  • Together with the construction team, regularly conduct site walk-through inspections. Attend as necessary each assigned project site regularly and conduct of weekly and monthly Project Management meetings
  • Responsible for the health and safety of all project stakeholders within the Project site
  • Provide regular review, assessment and evaluation of the KRS with project management team
  • OVersees and monitor compliance of each projcyt site on the Vendor performance evaluation report (VPER) requirements.
  • Other necessary Contruction phase activities that needs to be accomplished and monitored by the AVP for Engineering

Post-constrcution Phase:

  • In coordination with the assigned committee, comply with the requirements before the assigned project is considered under post-construction phase
  • Ensure that all project close-out documentations leading to post-construction phase are in place. Such documents are Certification of Completion and Acceptance (COCA) for the various contracts are duly signed by authorized representatives within the prescribed timeline
  • Ensure orderly close-out of project with stakeholders and transition fully from construction to building operation

Job Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of Engineering field (CE, EE, ME or equivalent) and possesses a valid PRC license
  2. Preferred to have a combined 20 years of project and construction management experience on real estate development, or construction firm, handling vertical and horizontal developments
  3. 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  4. Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  5. Excellent at negotiating vendor contracts
  6. Successfully leads project and programs on-time, on-schedule, on-quality and on-budget
  7. Has the ability to learn and understand and apply new technologies
