The Assistant Unit Head for Tax Compliance supports the overall tax function by overseeing tax compliance, audit coordination, and tax planning activities for the Automotive and After-Market Group. The role ensures that tax strategies and regulatory requirements are properly implemented and aligned with organizational goals. This position acts as a key support to the Tax Head, serving as a primary point of contact for senior management on tax matters, while also extending advisory and compliance support to affiliate groups when required.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee tax compliance activities and ensure that filings for the assigned groups are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies and planning initiatives for the Automotive and After-Market Group.
Lead the preparation and review of tax computations, schedules, and supporting documents.
Coordinate and manage BIR audits for the assigned groups, including documentation, responses, and exposure monitoring.
Provide tax advisory support on transactions, business initiatives, restructuring, and intercompany arrangements.
Serve as the main tax point of contact for management in the Automotive and After-Market Group.
Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure accuracy of tax information and compliance with regulations.
Assist the Tax Head in implementing tax processes, documentation improvements, and group-wide tax initiatives.
Provide support to affiliate groups on compliance, audit, and tax-related advisory matters when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; CPA highly preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience in tax compliance, audit, or advisory
Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR procedures
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Experience in a multi-entity or conglomerate setup is an advantage
