Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Site Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction maintenance projects within the oil & gas, chemical, and infrastructure sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping and structural works, maintenance, and shutdowns, with proven experience in managing site activities to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Site Manager in daily site operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Assist the estimation team with mechanical estimates and liaise with clients on potential business opportunities to grow the business.
- Supervise and monitor piping and structural installation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain clear communication and resolve site issues promptly.
- Support budget control, variation claims, and procurement activities to ensure cost efficiency.
- Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and enforce HSE compliance across all site activities.
- Track fabrication and delivery schedules, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, method statements, and handover packages.
- Assist in shutdown and maintenance planning, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in site management or construction supervision within oil & gas, chemical, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural and piping works, shutdowns, and maintenance.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PDMS, and familiar with MS Project or Primavera for planning.
- Certified CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector and trained in safety courses (Lifting Supervisor, Risk Assessment, Occupational First Aid).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of HSE standards and quality management systems.
