Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, manage staff performance, control costs, and enhance guest experiences in a dynamic restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate new wholesale food suppliers to negotiate competitive prices and secure quality products
  • Calculate kitchenware and equipment needs based on operational demands and place timely orders to maintain inventory
  • Manage and organize vendor contracts and invoices to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance
  • Coordinate effective communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to optimize service delivery
  • Prepare and manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage during operating hours
  • Process payroll accurately and timely for all restaurant staff to maintain employee satisfaction and compliance
  • Supervise kitchen and wait staff, providing guidance and assistance to maintain high service standards
  • Maintain detailed records of daily, weekly, and monthly costs and revenues to monitor financial performance
  • Organize onboarding for new employees, including scheduling training sessions and ordering uniforms to ensure smooth integration
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe dining environment
  • Collect and analyze guest feedback to recommend menu and service improvements that enhance customer satisfaction

Required competencies and certifications

  • Work experience as a Restaurant Assistant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software such as OpenTable and PeachWorks
  • Availability to work within opening hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Good math and reporting skills to support financial tracking and operational reporting
  • Customer service attitude focused on delivering positive guest experiences
  • Strong communication and team management abilities to lead and motivate staff
  • High school diploma additional certification in hospitality is a plus
