Job Title: Assistant Product Manager – Cosmetics & Personal Care
Position Overview
Suyen Corporation is seeking an Assistant Product Manager to oversee the complete product lifecycle of our Cosmetics and Personal Care portfolio. From initial trend forecasting and formulation alignment to market launch and post-launch evaluation, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth, profitability, and market relevance of our beauty brands.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including R&D, regulatory compliance, marketing, supply chain, and retail operations—to deliver high-quality, regulatory-compliant products that resonate with our consumers.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle of cosmetics and personal care items, ensuring milestones are met from conceptualization, prototyping, and mass production to phasing out.
- Market Research & Trend Forecasting: Monitor local and global beauty trends, consumer behavior, and competitor landscapes to identify white spaces and propose innovative product concepts.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the central hub between R&D/manufacturers (for formulation and packaging testing) and Regulatory Affairs (to ensure FDA compliance and timely notification).
- Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Partner with Marketing and Creative teams to develop compelling product positioning, packaging copy, pricing strategies, and launch campaigns.
- Portfolio Analysis: Conduct regular sales performance and margin analyses. Monitor SKU health, inventory levels, and customer feedback to optimize the existing product matrix.
- Supplier & Vendor Relations: Coordinate with local and international third-party manufacturers (OEM/ODM) regarding product specifications, lead times, and costing negotiations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetics Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 5–7 years of experience in product management, brand management, or product development, specifically within the cosmetics, skincare, or personal care industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the cosmetic product development process, ingredient trends, packaging materials, and ASEAN Cosmetic Directive / FDA regulations.
- Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple product launches simultaneously.
- Analytical mindset proficient in translating sales data and market research into actionable product strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for handling external vendors and internal stakeholders.
