Assistant Operations Manager

Job Description:

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Head in overseeing and enhancing overall retail operations to ensure smooth store performance and optimal sales execution. This role is responsible for implementing operational systems, coordinating cross-functional requirements, and ensuring store readiness through effective inventory, staffing, and promotional management. The position also involves conducting regular store visits to assess performance, resolve issues, and drive operational excellence across all retail stores and beauty counters.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Report directly to the Operations Head and support the implementation of operational strategies, systems, procedures, and process improvements.
2. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and procedures to ensure smooth retail operations, from demand planning to achieving 100% fill rate.
3. Coordinate with internal teams, external suppliers, and retail partners to ensure all operational requirements, including product requests, store improvements, and promotions, are fulfilled.
4. Conduct regular store and beauty counter visits to evaluate the performance of Beauty Assistants.
5. Ensure store and beauty counter orderliness, compliance, and adherence to company standards.
6. Conduct market analysis during store and beauty counter visits to identify market trends, opportunities, and operational concerns.
7. Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving operational issues affecting store performance and sales execution.
8. Monitor stock levels and ensure the availability of products, testers, and supplies across retail stores and beauty counters.
9. Escalate stock requirements and operational concerns to Head Office and coordinate urgent replenishments when necessary.
10. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure store readiness for product launches, promotions, activations, and other operational activities.
11. Participate in operational events such as product launches, special activations, invitational selling, conventions, fairs, and bazaars.
12. Monitor the implementation of operational programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with business objectives.
13. Provide operational updates, observations, and recommendations to the Operations Head based on store visits and field activities.
14. Work closely with cross-functional teams to address operational requirements and improve overall retail execution.
15. Perform other operations-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Operations Head.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or any related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in retail or FMCG.
• Background in Key Account Management, Buying, Operations, or Category/Brand Management is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with a systematic approach to work.
• Demonstrates both charismatic and pragmatic leadership.
• Knowledgeable in retail operations, team management, and sales execution.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to work independently, under pressure, and with minimal supervision.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Willing to render overtime and work on weekends when required.
• Willing to do fieldwork.
