Job Description
The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Sr. Operations Manager in overseeing and enhancing overall retail operations to ensure smooth store performance and optimal sales execution. This role is responsible for implementing operational systems, coordinating cross-functional requirements, and ensuring store readiness through effective inventory, staffing, and promotional management. The position also involves conducting regular store visits to assess performance, resolve issues, and drive operational excellence across all retail stores and beauty counters.
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Sr. Operations Manager
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and procedures to ensure smooth retail operations (from demand planning to achieving 100% fill rate)
- Coordinate with internal teams, external suppliers, and retail partners to ensure all operational requirements (e.g., product requests, store improvements, promotions) are fulfilled
- Conduct regular store and beauty counter visits to:
- Evaluate performance of Beauty Assistants
- Ensure store orderliness and compliance
- Perform market analysis
- Identify and resolve operational issues
- Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of products, testers, and supplies; escalate needs to head office and handle urgent replenishments when necessary
- Participate in operational events such as product launches, special activations, invitational selling, conventions, fairs, and bazaars
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or any related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in retail or FMCG
- Background in roles such as Key Account Management, Buying, Operations, or Category/Brand Management is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with a systematic approach to work
- Demonstrates both charismatic and pragmatic leadership
- Knowledgeable in retail operations, team management, and sales execution
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to work independently, under pressure, and with minimal supervision
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Willing to render overtime and work on weekends when required
- Willing to do fieldwork
