The Assistant Merchandise Manager – Fashion supports the Merchandise Manager in developing and executing merchandising strategies for the Fashion category to achieve sales, profitability, inventory, and customer satisfaction objectives. The role assists in managing merchandise assortment, inventory levels, supplier relationships, pricing, promotions, and sales performance while ensuring that products remain competitive, relevant, and aligned with market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing merchandising strategies for the Fashion category.
- Monitor sales, inventory, sell-through, and merchandise performance.
- Support assortment planning, product selection, pricing, promotions, and markdown activities.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding product availability, pricing, delivery, and promotions.
- Work closely with Store Operations, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams.
- Conduct store visits and recommend improvements in merchandise assortment and presentation.
- Assist in leading and developing the merchandising team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in merchandising, preferably in fashion/apparel retail.
- Experience in assortment planning, inventory management, sales analysis, and vendor coordination.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of current fashion and retail trends is an advantage.
- Willing to travel or conduct store visits when required.
