Job Description
Overview
The Assistant Mechanical Design Manager plays a critical role in shaping Rockwell Land's high-end residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This role leads the design phase of mechanical systems—including HVAC, vertical transportation, and fire protection—ensuring they align with Rockwell's benchmark for luxury finishes, operational efficiency, and spatial sophistication.
Key Responsibilities
- Premium Design Quality & Compliance: Oversee complete MEP/mechanical design deliverables to guarantee compliance with the National Building Code of the Philippines, Philippine Mechanical Code, local authority requirements, and Rockwell's internal luxury development standards.
- Luxury & Architectural Integration: Collaborate closely with elite architectural, structural, and interior design teams to ensure high-performance HVAC and mechanical layouts are seamlessly integrated without compromising ceiling heights, aesthetics, or acoustic comfort for residents.
- BIM & Clash Resolution: Lead interdisciplinary drawing coordination using BIM (Revit) to eliminate spatial conflicts prior to site execution, minimizing costly rework during construction.
- Value Engineering & Sustainability: Drive energy-efficient, eco-friendly system optimizations and smart building solutions that reduce lifecycle operating costs while preserving premium tenant and resident experiences.
- Project Management Group (PMG) Alignment: Prepare and present refined technical reviews and design progress updates to the PMG, consultants, and senior leadership to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Site Technical Support & Quality Audits: Conduct targeted site inspections during critical construction phases to verify that installation matches design intent, local regulatory mandates, and Rockwell's quality benchmarks.
Qualifications
- Credentials: Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the Philippines (BS Mechanical Engineering).
- Experience: 6+ years in mechanical design engineering, with direct experience in high-rise residential towers, premium commercial properties, or luxury mixed-use developments.
- Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, load calculation tools (e.g., HAP, TRACE), fluid dynamic simulations, and MS Office.
- Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of local building codes, fire codes (NFPA standards), and international green building benchmarks (LEED, BERDE).
