Overview of the position

The Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, including taxation, statutory compliance, treasury functions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities. The role ensures timely financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective cash flow management, and accurate accounting records.

Key Responsibilities

1. Taxation

* Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.

* Ensure compliance with VAT/GST, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and other applicable taxes.

* Coordinate with tax authorities and external consultants during audits and assessments.

* Monitor changes in tax regulations and implement necessary compliance measures.

* Maintain tax records and supporting documentation.

2. Treasury Management

* Monitor daily cash positions and cash flow requirements.

* Prepare cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports.

* Process bank payments and fund transfers.

* Manage banking relationships and banking documentation.

* Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.

* Support foreign exchange and treasury-related activities.

3. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)

* Verify vendor invoices and supporting documents/Generate Customer Invoice

* Process supplier payments accurately and on time.

* Reconcile supplier/Customer statements and resolve discrepancies.

* Monitor outstanding payables/Receivables

* Ensure compliance with company policies and approval workflows.

* Prepare aging reports and collection status updates.

4. General Accounting

* Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

* Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

* Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

* Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.

* Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.

Experience and Qualification

* Bachelor's /Master Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

* 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in taxation and compliance.

* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

* Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
