Position Overview
The Assistant Manager of Corporate Communications plays a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the company's brand reputation. This individual will oversee day-to-day internal and external messaging, media relations, content development, and crisis response support. Sitting between operational execution and strategic planning, this role requires a strong communicator who can align corporate messaging across diverse stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Communications: Draft, edit, and distribute internal announcements, town hall messaging, executive briefings, and newsletters to drive employee engagement and alignment.
- Media & Public Relations: Draft press releases, handle reactive media inquiries, build relationships with industry journalists, and track media coverage metrics.
- Executive & Brand Messaging: Assist leadership with speechwriting, presentation decks, and external thought-leadership pieces (e.g., LinkedIn posts, industry panels).
- Crisis Management: Support senior leadership during issue management by preparing holding statements, Q&A documents, and incident briefs.
- Content & Digital Media: Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to ensure consistency across official corporate platforms, annual reports, and ESG updates.
- Team Supervision: Mentor junior associates, copywriters, or agency partners to maintain brand guidelines and project deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
Experience
3–5 years of progressive communications experience, ideally in a corporate environment or PR agency
Skill Set
Exceptional business writing, media outreach, project management, and AP Style proficiency
