Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to ensure efficiency and high-quality service.
- Monitor daily activities, ensuring all rooms, public areas, and staff are adhering to five-star cleanliness standards.
- Assist in managing housekeeping staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, hallways, and other facilities to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation standards are consistently met.
Guest Experience
- Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation throughout Fili Hotel.
- Address guest complaints and requests promptly and professionally, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs to enhance guest satisfaction in housekeeping services.
Operational Efficiency
- Assist in maintaining an effective inventory management system for housekeeping supplies and linen.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as Front Desk, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage, to ensure smooth operations and a seamless guest experience.
- Oversee and assist with cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas according to established procedures.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Enforce proper safety procedures for staff, particularly when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Conduct regular safety training and ensure the housekeeping staff follows safety guidelines and emergency protocols.
Training & Development
- Assist in training new housekeeping staff on standard operating procedures and hotel policies.
- Continuously assess and improve staff performance, providing feedback, coaching, and motivation.
- Stay current with industry trends and new cleaning techniques to ensure the team is using the latest best practices.
Administrative Duties
- Assist in preparing reports on department performance, including labor costs, inventory levels, and guest satisfaction scores.
- Handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing, tracking employee attendance, and maintaining employee records.
- Assist with managing departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and controlling costs.
Quality Control & Inspections
- Perform regular room inspections and audits to ensure the property meets cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper to develop and implement quality assurance programs and checklists.
- Ensure that any maintenance issues identified during inspections are promptly reported and followed up with the maintenance team.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Housekeeping or hospitality-related certifications (e.g., cleaning standards, safety, or supervisory training) are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive housekeeping experience, preferably in a luxury or large-scale hotel/resort.
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role within housekeeping.
- Experience in managing teams, room inspections, inventory, and budget control.
Preferred Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning equipment, and supplies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for providing superior guest service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move heavy objects, and work in varying environments (guest rooms, public areas, etc.).
- Pre-opening experience in a hotel, integrated resort, or hospitality property is an advantage.
