Location: Philippines
Work Arrangement: Remote, Full-time
Shift: Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PHT (Dayshift)
Salary Range: Php 110,000 - Php 140,000

As an Assistant Accounting Manager, you are a pivotal leader responsible for bridging technical excellence with high-level team management. This role is designed for a public practice veteran who possesses an advanced mastery of the Australian tax landscape. You will take ownership of complex compliance portfolios while simultaneously acting as a mentor and technical architect for the team, ensuring the firm delivers sophisticated advisory and accounting services that meet the highest professional standards.

Your Impact

  • Technical Leadership & Review: Lead the preparation and critical review of financial statements and tax returns for complex entity structures, including Companies, Trusts, Partnerships, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF). You will oversee the accuracy of BAS/IAS and FBT returns, ensuring zero-defect delivery.

  • Team Mentorship & Growth: Act as a dedicated mentor to junior team members. You are responsible for supporting their technical and professional growth, conducting quality reviews of their work, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

  • Strategic Advisory & Tax Planning: Provide high-level strategic tax planning and business advisory support. You will translate complex financial data into actionable insights, helping clients optimize their tax positions and achieve their commercial goals.

  • Legislative Research & Compliance: Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to ensure all client strategies and filings comply with current Australian legislation. You remain at the forefront of ATO rulings and accounting standards to mitigate risk.

  • Collaboration on Complex Projects: Work closely with the Manager and Partner on specialized matters and high-impact projects. You serve as a key technical resource, handling escalated queries and contributing to the firm's strategic operational objectives.

What You Bring

  • The Experience:At least 5 years of experience in public practice, including significant time spent in a Supervisor or Assistant Manager role. You have a proven track record of managing both technical workflows and people.

  • Technical Mastery: Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax law, and compliance requirements. You are an expert in the nuances of various AU entity types and their specific reporting obligations.

  • The Credentials: A Tertiary qualification in Accounting (Bachelor's degree or higher). Professional designation (CA/CPA) is highly desirable.

  • Analytical Prowess: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex tax issues and provide structured, logical solutions.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with Partners and mentoring junior staff with equal professionalism. You thrive in a collaborative remote environment while maintaining strong independent accountability.
