The Assistant Accounting Manager (Reporting and Cost Control) is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recording, and providing timely and reliable financial reporting. This role includes management of the general ledger, month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) controls. The Assistant Accounting Manager ensures compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger & Financial Recording
● Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger.
● Record all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards.
● Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly.
2. Month-End & Year-End Closing
● Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
● Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
● Ensure timely completion of financial statements and reports.
3. Accounts Payable
● Oversee the accounts payable function to ensure timely and accurate payments.
● Review and approve supplier invoices and expense reports.
● Maintain proper documentation and controls over all payments.
4. Cost Accounting / Food & Beverage Costing
● Track and analyze product costs, particularly for food and beverage operations.
● Prepare cost reports and variance analyses to support business decisions.
● Recommend cost control measures and process improvements.
5. Inventory Valuation & COGS Controls
● Monitor inventory levels and valuations to ensure accuracy.
● Implement and maintain internal controls over inventory and COGS.
● Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
6. Financial Reporting
● Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and analyses.
● Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to management.
● Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with supervisory experience preferred.
● Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
● Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
● Detail-oriented, analytical, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
● Can work in a fast paced environment
