Assistant Accountant

Hi! We're Smartsourcing, and we're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team full-time and onsite. If you're detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to build your experience across bookkeeping, payroll, and reporting, this role could be a great fit for you.

Your Role as an Assistant Accountant

As an Assistant Accountant , you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day finance operations, from reconciliations and accounts receivable to payroll processing and reporting. You'll work closely with international stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate, up to date, and aligned with reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Payment Advice & Bookkeeping

• Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
• Manage creditor communications and banking transaction
• Upload invoices to Xero accounting software
• Record expense claims and follow up on credit card receipts
• Prepare and send out payment advice
• Handle bookkeeping entries including deductions, chargebacks, and addition

Accounts Receivable

• Load contracts and process receipting
• Approve candidate placements and generate customer invoice
• Prepare and send Astute invoices
• Monitor and report on DB arrears and AR weekly status
• Manage FRG account mailbox and send payment reminders

Payroll Processing

• Execute weekly payroll runs (normal, adjustment, and unscheduled
• Maintain payee records and generate payslips
• Manage billing and client records
• Configure FT360 awards and maintain pay agreements
• Prepare weekly payroll reports and process EEP healthcare payroll

Reporting & Finance Support

• Generate flash reports and credit performance reports
• Monitor bank balances and Xero accounts
• Prepare monthly reports and assist with financial analysis
• Support ad hoc reporting and participate in training sessions

What Makes You a Strong Fit

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Familiarity with Xero and Astute (preferred)
• Strong Excel and data management skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
