The Assistant Manager for Safety in Aviation supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's Safety Management System (SMS). This role ensures compliance with aviation safety regulations, promotes a strong safety culture, and assists in identifying and mitigating operational risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with regulatory and company requirements

  • Monitor safety performance indicators and report trends, hazards, and risks to management

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across aviation operations

  • Support incident/accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking

  • Ensure compliance with aviation authority regulations (e.g., CAAP, ICAO standards) and internal policies

  • Develop and deliver safety training, awareness programs, and safety briefings

  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and records

  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure safety standards are consistently applied

  • Assist in emergency response planning and crisis management exercises

  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field

  • Relevant certifications in Safety Management Systems (SMS) or aviation safety (preferred)

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in aviation safety or related field

  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., ICAO, CAAP, IATA)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
