Job summary


As a Fee operations associate in the fee operations team, you will support the calculation, onboarding, oversight, and control of investment management, advisory, performance fee, relationship pricing, and accounts receivable processes for institutional clients using separate account and commingled fund vehicles. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to interpret fee agreements, execute accurate setup and maintenance, and manage exceptions within defined timelines. You will build expertise in fee structures, agreement interpretation, risk and control oversight, and process improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end onboarding, setup, and maintenance of new or amended fee calculation records based on executed fee agreements and documented requirements
  • Interpret fee agreement terms and conditions, including customized fee structures, and provide guidance to enable accurate account and fee setup
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across client service, product, legal, onboarding, invoicing, and market value data teams to support effective delivery
  • Oversee end-to-end relationship pricing setup and eligibility checks while balancing operational execution with risk mitigation
  • Execute daily oversight of dashboards, rules monitoring, account setup activity, and exception management within established timelines
  • Communicate onboarding status, amended agreements, terminated accounts, and non-standard fee arrangements clearly to internal stakeholders and downstream teams
  • Follow established risk and control practices for records and activities that impact end-to-end fee calculation
  • Build subject matter expertise across fee operations processes, agreements, calculations, and product-related considerations
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities and contribute to technology enhancements supporting onboarding and new product initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, asset management, or a similar function
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to deliver high-quality results in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to analyze issues, assess impacts, and escalate to management and key stakeholders with proposed resolution options
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects independently and prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present clear, concise information to stakeholders
  • Collaborative team approach, flexibility, and comfort working with ambiguity while learning new processes

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (for example, MBA, CPA, or CFA)
  • Experience in asset and wealth management operations, middle office, finance, or fee operations
  • Experience interpreting fee agreements and supporting fee structures, relationship pricing, consultant strategies, or performance analytics
  • Understanding of investment products, mutual funds, institutional accounts, and relevant regulatory considerations
  • Analytical, data-mining, and automation skills to identify trends, exceptions, and process improvement opportunities (for example, Microsoft Excel tools such as Access or Alteryx are helpful)
  • Experience contributing to projects, technology enhancements, automation initiatives, or process industrialization efforts
  • Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes
