Asset & Digital Workplace Specialist
Location: UK
Reports to: Global Head of IT Services & Operations
Overview
The Asset & Digital Workplace Specialist is responsible for managing and optimising the organisation's end-user technology environment. This includes effective asset and hardware lifecycle management, configuration and compliance through Microsoft Intune, administration of collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, etc.), coordination of vulnerability and patch management activities and ownership of pivotal IT experience processes such as Joiner/Leaver/Mover.
The role ensures that digital workplace services remain secure, compliant, and deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for all users.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
* Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets across their lifecycle.
* Ensure asset data integrity in configuration and inventory systems.
* Support procurement, deployment, recovery, and disposal processes for end user devices.
* Monitor license usage and ensure compliance with software licensing policies.
Intune Configuration, Management & Compliance
* Configure, deploy, and manage devices through Microsoft Intune (Windows, iOS, Android, macOS).
* Implement and maintain device compliance and security policies.
* Support enrolment processes and troubleshoot related user issues.
* Collaborate with security teams to ensure alignment with endpoint protection standards.
Collaboration Tools Administration
* Administer and support Microsoft 365 collaboration tools including Teams, SharePoint Online, and Office applications.
* Manage access, permissions, and configuration settings to ensure secure and efficient collaboration.
* Provide expert technical support and contribute to continuous improvement of collaboration environments.
* Coordinate with business process owners for tool adoption and governance (without owning business workflows).
Vulnerability & Patch Management
* Oversee patch management for end-user devices to maintain security and compliance.
* Monitor vulnerability reports and coordinate remediation activities.
* Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to manage patch cycles and verify compliance status.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
* Maintain clear technical documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.
* Identify opportunities to enhance user experience, security, and operational efficiency.
* Stay current with Microsoft and industry updates, ensuring best practices are applied.
Person Specification Essential
* Proven experience in endpoint or digital workplace management.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Windows device management.
* Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Office).
* Familiarity with asset management principles and CMDB practices.
* Understanding of vulnerability management and patch deployment processes.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Desirable
* Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent.
* ITIL Foundation certification.
* Experience with Ivanti Neurons or other ITSM platforms.
* Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or automation tools.
