We are looking for an analytical and detail-driven
AR Accountant to oversee financial activities that directly offset gross sales. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate accounting, tracking, and reporting of sales deductions, including customer rebates, trade promotions, volume discounts, slotting fees, and product returns. This position will also be responsible for reconciling monthly eCommerce sales within our Amazon environment.
As the AR Accountant, you will:
Manage Deductions:
Process, validate, and record contra revenue transactions, ensuring all customer promotions, rebates, and discounts are accurately captured.
○ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with the Sales team while overseeing various third-party marketplace platforms.
○ Reconciliation – E-Commerce Returns:
Perform weekly reconciliations of eCommerce product returns and investigate any material variances.
○ Cross-Functional Partnership:
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Accounts Receivable to validate customer deduction claims and resolve disputes efficiently.
○ Transaction Reconciliation:
Reconcile daily and monthly sales, refunds, discounts, and chargebacks between e-commerce storefronts (e.g., Shopify, Amazon) and payment processors (e.g., AMEX, VISA).
○ Channel Payout Management:
Process and reconcile settlements from third-party marketplaces (e.g., Amazon), verifying deductions for platform fees, referral fees, and advertising.
○ Revenue Accounting & Compliance:
Ensure revenue recognition aligns with U.S. GAAP principles and that all journal entries for deferred revenue and recognized sales are posted accurately during the month-end close.
○ Process Automation:
Identify opportunities to automate data flow from sales platforms to our ERP system, improving reporting efficiency.

Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of
3–5 years of Revenue Accounting experience, including experience with month-end close (i.e., booking journal entries), with at least
one year of eCommerce experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Must have strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
- Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
