Production Support Engineer /
Application Support Analyst
Roles & Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day production support for business-critical applications built on
the .NET platform and SQL Server.
• Monitor application health, investigate production issues, and ensure timely
resolution within defined SLA timelines.
• Analyze incidents, troubleshoot application failures, identify root causes, and
implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support debugging of .NET applications, including APIs, web applications,
background jobs, and scheduled services.
• Write and execute SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation scripts to
investigate issues, correct data, and support business operations.
• Perform detailed analysis of production defects, data discrepancies, performance
issues, and system behavior across application and database layers.
• Develop small utility/console applications in .NET to support data fixes, bulk
processing, automation, and operational tasks when needed.
• Work closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to triage
incidents and coordinate issue resolution.
• Review application logs, exception traces, SQL errors, and monitoring alerts to
identify problem patterns and resolution steps.
• Document issue analysis, root cause findings, workaround steps, and permanent
fixes for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Participate in problem management by identifying recurring issues and
recommending long-term improvements.
• Assist in performance analysis of applications and SQL queries to improve stability
and efficiency.
• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders by providing timely updates on
incidents, impact, resolution progress, and closure details.
• Ensure production support activities follow change management, incident
management, and release management processes.
• Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting
guides.
• Support data-related activities such as data correction, validation, reconciliation,
and report verification in SQL Server.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for
automation, monitoring enhancement, and support process optimization.
• Be available for critical issue support, release support, and on-call or after-hours
support when required.
• Investigate failures using Azure diagnostic logs, transaction traces, dependency
tracking, and performance metrics to identify the source of issues.
• Analyze and troubleshoot React-based UI issues, including API integration
problems, page behavior issues, console errors, and frontend data-binding
problems.
Required / Expected Skills
• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in technical development roles
• Strong experience in C# / .NET / .NET Core
• Good working knowledge of React
• Good hands-on experience with SQL Server
• Experience in production support, incident handling, and root cause analysis
• Ability to write complex SQL queries, troubleshoot stored procedures, and analyze
data issues
• Experience creating console applications / utilities for support and automation
tasks
• Familiarity with logs, debugging, batch jobs, APIs, and troubleshooting across
application and database layers
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Working Hours / Support Coverage
• Candidate should be willing to provide production support during US business
hours, primarily 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST.
• Should be flexible to work during critical production incidents, priority releases,
and high-severity issue situations outside regular hours when required.
• Ability to coordinate with US-based business, application, and infrastructure teams
during EST time zone support window is required.
