Role Overview
The Application Development Supervisor leads the analysis, design, development, and enhancement of applications that support SMIC's business operations. The role ensures high-quality, secure, and efficient software solutions while overseeing a team of developers and coordinating with business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor application developers; manage workload, priorities, and performance.
- Oversee design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
- Ensure solutions meet SMIC standards for quality, security, and compliance.
- Coordinate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Support project planning, timelines, and resource allocation with IT leadership.
- Conduct code reviews, ensure documentation, and promote development best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, and Business Solutions teams for system integrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years total experience in application development; 13 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and development frameworks.
- Experience with SDLC, Agile methods, and version control tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
