I. Job Summary
Performs active role in the development, modification and maintenance of in-house applications or specialized utility programs. Supports other activities assigned under Application Development and Maintenance Division.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops or enhances programs based on business requirements. Producing detailed technical specifications and writing program codes.
- Performs unit testing to ensure correctness of the program codes, fixing (debugging) errors where they occur, rerunning and rechecking the program until it produces the correct results prior endorsement for QA and/or UA testing.
- Provides technical support on application development related requirements and queries. Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, system owners and business users in the testing of new and/or enhanced applications; Provides QAT and UAT support by addressing test findings on time; Provides technical support during implementation and post-implementation of the developed/enhanced programs.
- Prepares the programs, objects, scripts and other configurations for migration to authorized environments; Assists in the deployment of applications, ensuring smooth and error-free deployment.
- Prepares technical documentation, design, applicable manuals and/or user support materials for all developed programs. Provides application walkthrough as necessary.
- Collaborates with the other DSG units to ensure compliance of the system design and the hardware/software interface; contributes to the design and strategies for improving or leveraging the existing system, program logic, and data processing.
- Provides production support for newly deployed developed applications used by business operations and performs troubleshooting on an on-call 24 hour basis.
- Provides technical guidance to other Application Developers and other team members. Contributes significantly to activities for knowledge building relating to IT.
- Ensures timely updating and submission of performance monitoring report to immediate supervisor.
- Attends to applicable learning and development training, workshop, or sessions necessary for skills upgrade; Cultivates adherence to industry best practices, coding standards, development methodologies and technologies to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Undertakes such other works as necessary to achieve the overall objectives of DSG.
