Duties include but are not limited to:
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Help with 1099 preparation and collecting W9s
- Maintain general ledger accounts and preparation of journal entries for accruals and variances
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area
- CPA is a plus
- General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion in a supervisory role
- Knowledge and experience in using MS Dynamics and Bill.com is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP is a plus
- Experience developing financial reports and metrics
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
- Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
System requirements:
- Computer Processor: At least i5 5th generation for both primary and back up computers
- Computer Memory/RAM: At least 8.00 GB for both primary and back up computers
- Computer OS: Windows 10 or 11
- Extra monitor
- Computer must have a licensed MS Office installed
- Internet speed must be running on a 20+ Mbps wired plan (at least 10 Mbps for back up connection)
