Android Developer

Android Developer role focused on enhancing and building new features for an online app. You will play a key role in UI development, partnering with the UX team to implement user stories and deliver engaging, high-quality user interfaces across challenging UI flows. The position emphasizes performance, responsiveness, code quality, and collaboration with design and engineering teams to ship on aggressive deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Translate user stories into functional Android applications
• Design and develop comprehensive, rich user experiences aligned to product goals and requirements
• Collaborate with UX/design teams and other engineers (web and mobile) to deliver engaging user interfaces
• Produce high-quality code on aggressive deadlines
• Ensure best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation
• Conduct unit testing to ensure code performs per design at the unit level
• Stay up to date with industry trends and developments
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's/College degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Science & Technology, or equivalent
• Experience using Android Java and Kotlin for Android development
• Experience developing high-performance, highly scalable, rich UI mobile applications
• In-depth knowledge of Android OS UI components and Android application components, and familiarity with Android SDK and Android Studio
• Understanding of mobile performance, latency, and security issues, including comfort with performance areas such as memory, speed, and networking and experience using performance analysis tools
• Experience with Agile/Scrum process, language, and ceremonies
• Knowledge and experience using Firebase, Fastlane, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery tools
• Solid understanding of API, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, and XML
• Excellent analytical, technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrated history of continuously improving knowledge and skills and improving processes for the organization
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and respond in a timely manner
• Self-starter with ability to independently acquire the knowledge required to succeed in the job
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in backend and web application development
• Experience working with advanced UI concepts
• Experience with Cloud Native Infrastructure, DevSecOps, and Microservice Architecture
