AI Video Data Collector Laundry & Dry Cleaning Operations

We partner with a leading AI and robotics company to produce high-quality, large-scale egocentric (first-person) video datasets that help train advanced AI models.

About The Role

Workstream is seeking individuals currently working in laundromats, commercial laundry facilities, dry cleaners, hotel linen services, or textile care shops to participate in a first-person video data collection project.

In this role, you will wear a lightweight head-mounted smartphone harness during your regular working shift to record your natural, hands-on tasks. The video footage you collect will be used to train and validate next-generation robotics systems, helping AI and autonomous robots learn real-world hand movements, cloth manipulation, fine motor control, and object handling in fabric care environments.

This is a flexible, supplemental earning opportunity that allows you to earn extra income while performing your standard daily work routines.

What You Will Do

• Wear a provided/approved head-mounted smartphone harness while performing your regular daily laundry and fabric care duties.
• Ensure clear, continuous visibility of your hands, arms, tools, and textiles as you work.
• Execute natural, high-value hands-on tasks safely and continuously.
• Upload raw video files (30-to-90-minute segments) to a secure Google Drive folder using a computer or stable home internet connection.
  
  

Activities You May Record (Laundry & Textile Settings)

You will film natural, continuous hands-on tasks in your workplace environment across any of the following areas:

• Sorting & Inspection: Sorting laundry by fabric type, color, or soil level; checking pockets; inspecting garments for stains, tears, or damage; tagging garments for processing.
• Washing & Drying Operations: Loading and unloading washers, dryers, and commercial extractors; measuring and dispensing liquid or powder detergents, softeners, and bleach; setting machine cycles and timers.
• Folding, Pressing & Finishing: Folding towels, sheets, linens, and garments; operating commercial steam presses, hand irons, or garment steamers; hanging and bagging finished items.
• Container & Equipment Interaction: Opening/closing detergent bottles, starch sprayers, laundry baskets, carts, and bin lids; transferring wet or dry clothes between hampers and machines.
• Packing & Assembly: Bundling clean laundry, sealing plastic wrap or garment bags, matching customer orders to ticket tags, and organizing pickup racks.
• Facility Maintenance & Cleanup: Cleaning lint traps, wiping down washer/dryer doors and folding tables, sweeping floors, and organizing soap/supply shelves.
  
  

What We Offer

This is a project-based independent contractor opportunity designed to provide supplemental income.

• Earn USD $3.50 for every hour of approved video footage submitted.
• Compensation is based on approved video submissions, not hours worked.
• Videos are reviewed to ensure they meet Workstream's quality and project requirements before payment is approved.
• Payment schedules and submission guidelines will be shared during onboarding.
