About MSTech
Moovsoon/MSTech is a small, nimble technology company solving a major problem in the moving and home services industry. We move fast, ship constantly, and are in the middle of a fundraising round. AI isn't a side experiment for us. It's becoming core to how our product works, and we're hiring the person who will build it.
The Role
We're looking for an early to mid-career AI engineer who lives and breathes this stuff. The kind of person who tests new models the week they drop, has opinions about when to use RAG vs. fine-tuning vs. just a bigger context window, and whose GitHub or Hugging Face profile says more about them than their resume does.
This is a hands-on building role with a strategy component. You'll identify where AI can create real value inside our moving and home services platform, then prototype, ship, and harden those features yourself...working directly with leadership and engineering.
We don't care about pedigree. We believe the next great AI engineer could be self-taught and building in public right now from the Philippines — and we intend to find them.
What You'll Do
Build
- Prototype and ship bite-sized AI features into our existing platform: LLM API integrations, structured outputs (JSON), function/tool calling, classification, extraction, and retrieval (RAG) where it earns its keep.
- Wire AI into real workflows using APIs, webhooks, and automation tools (we work with n8n, Supabase, Twilio, and Vercel).
- Write lightweight evals and guardrails so features handle edge cases, hallucinations, and failure modes gracefully.
Strategize
- Identify the highest-ROI places to embed AI into our product and internal operations — and just as importantly, flag where AI is the wrong tool.
- Evaluate models and providers (frontier APIs and open-weight models) on cost, latency, and quality, and defend your picks with data.
- Keep our AI spend lean. Cost-consciousness is a feature here, not a constraint.
Communicate
- Turn working prototypes into clear specs and tickets engineering can execute on.
- Document what you build so non-technical teams (sales, onboarding) can actually use it.
- Collaborate live with a U.S.-based team for several hours each business day.
What We're Looking For
Proof of work over pedigree
- A GitHub, Hugging Face, Kaggle, or portfolio of AI projects. This is the single biggest signal we look at. Side projects, hackathon builds, open-source contributions, demos — show us what you've made.
- No degree required. No minimum years of experience. If you've spent the last 1–2 years obsessively building with LLMs, you're exactly who we want to talk to.
Hands-on LLM fluency
- You've actually built with model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-weight models) — not just chatted with them.
- You understand context windows, tokens, structured outputs, function calling, and embeddings, and you treat prompting as engineering, not magic words.
- Enough Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript to prototype independently and work through API docs without hand-holding.
Builder's mindset
- Scrappy, resourceful, and self-directed — you find answers and clear your own blockers.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup where processes are still being invented and priorities shift.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with strong, clear technical writing.
Bonus points
- Fine-tuning or LoRA experience, agent frameworks, or eval tooling
- Hands-on time with n8n, Supabase, Twilio, or Vercel
- Anything you've shipped that real people actually used
Growth
This role is built to grow with the company. You'll be our resident AI expert from day one, with a clear path to owning the AI roadmap, shaping our long-term AI strategy, and stepping into a senior engineering or product leadership role as we scale.
How to Apply
Send us three things:
- A link to your GitHub, Hugging Face, Kaggle, or portfolio — required. This matters more than your resume.
- 3–5 sentences on the most interesting thing you've built with AI.
- One AI feature you'd add to a moving company's software, and roughly how you'd build it.
That's it. We read every application that includes a link to real work.
