AI Business Analyst

Role Summary:

Teoh Capital works with a portfolio of B2B software companies across healthcare, logistics, workforce management, CRM, and AI infrastructure.

We are looking for an IT Business Analyst with at least two years of hands-on experience, based in the Philippines to join us as a full-time freelance contractor, working entirely from home. You will translate business needs into clear requirements, and then stay with them — coordinating developers, vendors, and business stakeholders until the solution is live and the outcome is verified. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable asking the right questions, chasing the open action item, and taking ownership of a task from first conversation to final sign-off. You will bring two or more years of practical delivery experience, and you will still be expected to show the attitude and follow-through that carry a plan through to a finished outcome.

Engagement Terms:

• Location requirement: You must be based in and working from the Philippines for the duration of the engagement.
• Contract type: Freelance / independent contractor. You are engaged as a self-employed professional, not as an employee; you are responsible for your own statutory contributions and tax filings under Philippine regulations.
• Commitment: Full-time at approximately 40 hours per week, with availability during agreed core collaboration hours overlapping Australia/Singapore business time.
• Work setup: Fully remote. You will need a reliable broadband connection (at least 10 Mbps), a working laptop or desktop, and a quiet workspace for calls.
• Tools: Collaboration is conducted over video calls, chat, and shared trackers; the client provides access to the required project and documentation tools.
• Billing: Monthly invoicing based on agreed hours or an agreed monthly retainer, per the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elicit and document requirements. Run remote workshops and interviews with business users, then write clear business requirement documents, user stories, process maps, and acceptance criteria that development teams can act on without guesswork.
• Coordinate delivery end to end. Track assigned workstreams, maintain plans and RAID logs, chase dependencies and decisions, and ensure that every commitment has an owner and a date.
• Support project management activities. Prepare status reports, meeting minutes, and steering packs; update schedules and track effort; escalate risks early with a proposed resolution rather than a problem statement alone.
• Act as the bridge. Keep business stakeholders, developers, testers, and third-party vendors aligned on scope, priorities, and timelines — translating technical constraints into business language and vice versa across time zones.
• Support testing and validation. Help define test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) remotely, and confirm that delivered functionality meets the agreed requirements.
• Analyse and improve processes. Map current-state processes, identify pain points and manual effort, and propose practical improvements supported by data.
• Manage handover and adoption. Coordinate training, documentation, and go-live support so that changes are adopted rather than simply deployed.
• Close the loop. Follow every issue, change request, and action item through to resolution, and record the outcome so lessons are captured and reusable.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of full-time professional experience in business analysis, project coordination, IT support, or a related role. Internships, part-time work, and university projects do not count towards this minimum.
• Currently residing in the Philippines, with the legal right to work there, at least 2 years of relevant professional experience, and availability for a full-time freelance engagement.
• Ability to turn ambiguous conversations into structured, written requirements that others can execute against.
• Working knowledge of at least one requirements and process notation — user stories, use cases, BPMN, or UML.
• Practical familiarity with project management fundamentals: scope, schedule, risk, and issue tracking.
• Strong written and verbal English communication, with the confidence to facilitate a remote meeting of people more senior than yourself.
• Self-directed working style and a dependable home setup for remote collaboration.

Preferred/Nice to Have:

• Two or more years in Agile or Scrum delivery, or in hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) environments.
• Basic understanding of SQL for data validation, or the willingness to learn it quickly.
• Experience with process-mapping or prototyping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or Miro.
• Knowledge of ITIL incident and change management basics.
• Certificate or coursework in business analysis (CBAP/ECBA track) or project management (CAPM, PRINCE2
• Foundation) — a plus at this level, not a substitute for the 2 years of experience.
• Prior remote or distributed-team experience, or exposure to shared-services and technology consulting environments.
