Key Responsibilities

The Ad Operations Supervisor is a first-line people manager responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a team performing standard digital advertising operations. The role plans coverage and workloads, monitors delivery and quality, coaches employees, manages escalations, and communicates with internal stakeholders and assigned clients across campaign setup, trafficking, monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, optimization support, and related activities.

The position requires at least three years of hands-on Ad Operations experience, with five or more years preferred, and demonstrated experience supervising, coordinating, or leading an operational team. This is primarily a managerial role rather than a production role; the Team Lead may demonstrate procedures, validate complex work, or provide limited coverage when necessary while remaining accountable for team performance, employee development, process adherence, and client service.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Team Supervision and Workforce Coordination
  • Direct daily team activities, assign and prioritize work, monitor task queues, and ensure deadlines and client commitments are met.
  • Manage schedules, attendance, leave coordination, shift handoffs, workload coverage, and staffing risks with the appropriate manager or support functions.
  • Set performance expectations; provide feedback, coaching, and documented follow-up; and support corrective action and formal performance reviews when required.
  • Track workload, capacity, utilization, productivity, and employee availability, and reallocate resources as operating needs change.
  • Operational Delivery, Quality, and Performance Management
  • Maintain accountability for team accuracy, quality assurance, turnaround times, service levels, task completion, productivity, and operational reliability.
  • Review dashboards, trackers, error trends, delivery risks, and recurring issues; coordinate corrective actions and communicate material risks promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to approved procedures, quality checklists, escalation paths, information-security requirements, and client-specific instructions.
  • Perform Ad Operations tasks when necessary to maintain service continuity, provide coverage during employee absences, or support periods of increased workload, while ensuring that team supervision and operational management remain the role's primary responsibilities.
  • Client Communication and Escalation Management
  • Represent the team in governance meetings, status calls, and operational reviews, providing clear updates on delivery, quality, staffing, risks, and action items.
  • Coordinate escalations, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers, subject matter experts, quality assurance, Training Specialists, and other stakeholders, including campaign-performance discussions when relevant.
  • Employee Development, Training, and Skill Management
  • Partner with the Ad Operations Training Specialist on onboarding, nesting, refresher, remedial, and cross-training, and reinforce learning through coaching and calibration.
  • Conduct skill set reviews, identify capability gaps, maintain skills records, and develop coaching, cross-training, coverage, and readiness plans.
  • Participate in client-led and platform-specific training, ensure attendance, and maintain accurate records of procedures, materials, decisions, and follow-up.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any field from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on Ad Operations experience is required; five or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience supervising, coordinating, or leading an operational team is required, including work allocation, schedule or coverage management, coaching, performance feedback, and follow-up.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one relevant platform is required, such as Google Ad Manager, Campaign Manager 360, Display & Video 360, FreeWheel, The Trade Desk, Google Ads, Search Ads 360, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Operative, or an equivalent platform.
  • Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, sorting, filtering, formatting, structured data, and reporting; working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams; and the capacity to learn quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal English, people-leadership, client-facing, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, organization, and time management, with the ability to interpret metrics, manage priorities, document decisions, and resolve or escalate issues.

Preferred Experience And Knowledge

  • Experience across multiple digital advertising channels or platforms and leading a client-dedicated, distributed, or shift-based team.
  • Experience with governance meetings, quality management, root-cause analysis, service-level reporting, productivity or utilization tracking, and process improvement.
  • Experience partnering with trainers and subject matter experts on onboarding, nesting, remediation, skill set reviews, and employee development.
