The Opportunity
We're hiring an Ad Creative Video Specialist to join a fast-paced performance marketing agency producing conversion-focused video ads for e-commerce and DTC brands across TikTok, Meta, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts — someone who operates as a creative thinker, not just an executor, bringing independent judgment and direct response instincts to every edit. You'll work from light briefs, turn raw B-roll or loose concepts into multiple high-performing ad variations, apply scroll-stopping hook structures and retention-focused pacing without heavy direction, and leverage AI creative tools to accelerate output — all while managing a high-volume editing queue, meeting strict launch deadlines, and iterating continuously based on ad performance data.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
- Performance Ad Editing: Edit UGC-style video ads and short-form content for paid performance channels (TikTok, Meta, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts), applying direct response fundamentals to every edit — scroll-stopping hooks, strong narrative arcs, clear CTAs, and retention-focused pacing throughout
- Creative Brief Execution: Take light briefs — raw creator B-roll, a script, or a general concept — and brainstorm creative approaches to build multiple ad variations for rapid testing; make independent footage and creative calls including clip selection, transitions, and text overlays without heavy direction
- Queue & Deadline Management: Review weekly asset sheets, manage your editing queue proactively, and meet strict weekly launch deadlines while consistently maintaining high-volume output and first-draft quality standards
- AI Tool Integration: Leverage AI creative tools (ElevenLabs, Arcads, Veo3, Nano Banana, Adobe Firefly) to accelerate production timelines and expand ad variation output across client deliverables
- Performance-Informed Iteration: Interpret ad performance data to identify what's working creatively and continuously adjust future edits — treating performance results as a feedback loop for creative improvement
- QA & Proactive Communication: Run pre-submission QA on all deliverables; proactively flag capacity constraints, delays, or tech issues in real time — well before launch day, not after
What You Bring
- Performance Editing Experience: 2–3+ years of professional video editing experience specifically for performance video ads, DTC brands, or agencies — with a strong portfolio of paid ad work demonstrating deep fluency with hook structure, narrative arc, and CTA design
- Tool Proficiency: Expert-level command of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Photoshop, and Illustrator, or equivalent professional editing software
- Creative Autonomy: Strong independent judgment and self-sufficiency — able to make confident, high-quality creative calls on light briefs without requiring step-by-step direction or heavy oversight
- Proactive Communication: Strong written communication skills with a habit of sending daily updates, flagging issues early, and proactively negotiating timelines when capacity or blockers arise
Bonus Points if:
- You're familiar with interpreting ad analytics (CTR, hook rate, retention curves) and using performance data to inform creative iteration
- You have an agency background with a multi-brand portfolio and the ability to context-switch comfortably across clients
- You have formal direct response training or have graduated from a performance editing accelerator program
