Job Description

We're looking for a talented and driven individual to join our Asia Valuation Shared Services within our MBPS Actuarial Function as an . Established in 2012, the team has become an actuarial center of excellence with over 200 staff and growing, along with increasing range and ownership of deliverables, specializing in Valuation, Liability and Asset Modelling, Experience Analytics, Pricing, and more.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have ownership of the following accountabilities:

  • Develop, validate and implement model changes, (such as basis changes, new products, and other model enhancements) into our production models following our Model Change Management guidelines
  • Monitor and manage the successful execution of our quarterly controls such as reserve movement analysis, audit logs, inclusion controls and upstream report validation for the Source of Earnings, New Business Embedded Value and Canadian/Local capital
  • Lead and develop a small team of brig ht and talented actuarial staff, ensuring their work is of high quality
  • Support the country business units with various annual and adhoc projects such as Economic Capital, Inforce Embedded Value and Basis Changes
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve the VSSC tools, processes and general framework

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • At least 4 years of actuarial work experience in the life insurance industry past modelling and valuation experience would be an asset
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
  • Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in an evolving and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build camaraderie across levels and business functions.
  • Passion to grow and driven to be recognized as a trusted business partner.
