As Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will manage the overall functions and operations of Payable Accounting, ensuring correct and timely payment of financial obligations and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, your team of Accounts Payable Associates, and various internal departments to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Financial Supervision: Approve payments to suppliers and employees within agreed service levels, and review and validate that all payable transactions are valid, authorized, and compliant with FIN LOA, accounting standards, and tax/regulatory requirements.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Supervise the team on closing activities, review assigned reports in the closing calendar, and collaborate with the Corporate Accounting Team to ensure completeness and timely submission of financial information.
- Reconciliation & Analysis: Lead the reconciliation and analysis of vendor accounts to ensure liabilities are paid on time and resolve vendor queries, claims, or disputes.
- Tax Compliance: Supervise the team in data preparation, work paper compilation, and documentation of expanded withholding taxes (EWT) including 1601E, 1601F, and 1600.
- Audit & Process Coordination: Facilitate discussions with auditors regarding payable walkthroughs and work with the BPM team to document business processes, procedures, and guidelines.
- Team Leadership & Administration: Plan and schedule the team's workflow, set individual and team goals, establish performance standards, and provide constructive feedback and on-the-job training.
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
- Has Strong Analytical Skills: Capable of analyzing trends, preparing monthly KPI reports for the AP team, and recommending process improvements.
- Is a Problem Solver: Adept at identifying risks related to payable processing and implementing effective treatment plans to mitigate financial impact.
- Is a Collaborative Communicator: Able to efficiently interface with SCM, end-users, and external entities like banks and suppliers to resolve open purchase orders and handle inquiries.
- Is Organized and Detail-Oriented: Ensures the team maintains an orderly filing system of financial transactions turned over for custody while adhering strictly to company policies.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- At least 2 years of related work experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in Business Processes, Systems, and Controls
- Intermediate proficiency in Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Intermediate proficiency in Financial and Operational Audit Management
- Intermediate proficiency in Tax Accounting, Compliance, and Other Regulatory Management
- Fundamental awareness of the Business of Treasury/Treasury Services
- Experience handling Financial ERP System matters within the defined scope
