Accounts Payable Specialist (Pooling)
The AP Specialist – P2P Finance is responsible for executing end‑to‑end Accounts Payable operations within GBS, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of vendor transactions and documentation. The role delivers stable and reliable services in line with Service Level Targets (SLTs), supporting markets and entities through efficient invoice processing, issue resolution, and adherence to JTI policies, procedures, and J‑SOX requirements. The position works closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and continuous process improvement.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist in the area of
Purchase to Pay, you will
- Perform end‑to‑end AP transaction processing, including invoice validation, GL coding, SAP postings, and payment proposal review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Manage vendor documents and queries by validating submissions, resolving discrepancies, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring timely closure within SLA targets.
- Execute document management activities, including receiving, sorting, scanning, archiving, and maintaining invoice records in line with defined procedures.
- Support month‑end closing activities by ensuring all invoices and related transactions are processed, reconciled, and completed within required timelines.
- Prepare reports, perform vendor reconciliations, support audit requirements, and identify opportunities for process improvements based on KPIs and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with JTI policies, Global Operating Guidelines, and J‑SOX controls while collaborating with teams and participating in cross‑functional initiatives and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- At least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting, with exposure to Accounts Payable operations in a shared services environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including journal entries and understanding of IFRS and internal controls.
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications, with knowledge of enterprise structures (e.g., company codes, profit centers) as an advantage.
- Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to handle high volumes and meet tight deadlines.
- Very good written and spoken English communication skills, with a proactive, adaptable, and customer‑focused mindset.
