Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

As the P2P Tower Lead in our Global Finance Service Centre, you will play an important role in overseeing and managing the P2P processes and supporting the business to ensure we pay all vendors on time in full.

As the P2P Global Process owner, you will lead a to ensure efficient, accurate and timely delivery of invoice processing and vendor payments and to ensure query resolution is in line with SLA, all while ensuring P2P financial controls are in place and evidenced.

Your expertise in P2P processes, leadership skills, and commitment to process improvement will contribute to the success of our finance function.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Core responsibilities

  • Accountable for the running of the global P2P function
  • Lead and mentor a team of P2P finance representatives, analysts, senior analysts and team leads, providing guidance, training, and performance management
  • Accountable through team for timely and accurate invoice processing in line with SLA and query resolution.
  • Accountable through team for timely, accurate and well control payments to vendors
  • Collaborate with Group treasury team in ensuring cash flow forecasts are up to date and accurate and payment cycles are in line with forecasts
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the P2P team, implementing best practices and use of technology to drive efficiencies.
  • Document Global Processes including controls and establish and maintain regular performance monitoring of P2P processes including progress towards specific benchmarks and targets
  • Take ownership for the P2P team's adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), as agreed with the business, including regular performance reporting and oversight of remediation work through root cause analysis should performance not meet these SLAs
  • Collaborate with business leaders, internal customers and vendors to deliver excellent customer service and strong communications

Ad hoc responsibilities

  • Ensure appropriate continuous professional development, keeping abreast of all internal, legislative, and industry best practice;
  • Ensure technical accounting knowledge of the team is kept up to date
  • Support all internal and external audit activities through the provision of required documentation when necessary
  • The above accountabilities and responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the jobholder may be required to undertake additional duties that are consistent with the level and grading of the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational / Occupational Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in P2P tower (or AP team), with at least 2-3 years in a similar level leadership role
  • Higher education qualifications or equivalent within Finance or related field.
  • Lead six-Sigma green belt a distinct advantage

Skills

  • Expert in P2P processes in a global organisation
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, particularly Oracle or SAP
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines whilst managing a growing team
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve supplier and payment-related issues.
