Accounts Payable Associate

As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will ensure the timely and proper recording of financial transactions in conformity with accounting standards, statutory, and regulatory requirements. You will contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world by ensuring payments to vendors are legitimate, properly authorized, and adequately supported. You will work closely with the Accounts Payable Management team, internal departments, and external suppliers to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Transaction Verification & Matching: Review and validate payable transactions by performing 2-way matching for Non-PO and 3-way matching for PO transactions in line with company policies and government regulations.
  • Financial Recording & Payments: Process timely and accurate payments (in required modes and currencies) to employees, local/foreign vendors, third parties, and government agencies based on complete Accounts Payable Voucher (APV) packages.
  • Reporting & Month-End Closing: Prepare assigned reports for month-end closing calendars, review recorded payables to determine necessary accruals or adjustments, and generate/reconcile monthly URR reports.
  • Vendor & Audit Management: Perform reconciliation and analysis of vendor accounts to resolve queries or disputes, and provide necessary documentation to support financial audits, tax examinations, and due diligence.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare data, work papers, and documentation for expanded withholding taxes (EWT 1601E, 1601F, and 1600) and calculate tax remittances.

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

  • Focuses on Accuracy: Holds an intermediate proficiency in executing business processes, systems, and controls to ensure financial records are precise and compliant.
  • Navigates Accounts Payable Management: Demonstrates a solid understanding of full-cycle accounts payable workflows, from matching and validation to vendor reconciliation.
  • Understands Tax Accounting: Possesses intermediate knowledge of corporate tax compliance and regulatory management to handle complex EWT remittances accurately.
  • Collaborates Effectively: Communicates professionally with internal departments (Treasury, Accounting, Audit) and external stakeholders (Suppliers, External Auditors) to resolve discrepancies smoothly.

What You Will Need:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (Preferred).
  • Preferably 2 years of professional work experience in finance or accounting.
  • No prior leadership or project management experience is required.
  • Professional license is not required.

Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Operational Audit Management.
  • Strong skills in Business Process Systems and Controls.
  • Solid understanding of local tax filings, specifically EWT 1601E, 1601F, and 1600.
