Job Summary
The Junior Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable function by processing invoices, verifying expenses, maintaining vendor records, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of company obligations. The role assists in month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims accurately and on time.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and process payment requests, checks, and electronic fund transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports and ensure timely payment of obligations.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Support account reconciliations and journal entry preparation when required.
- Coordinate with internal departments regarding invoice approvals and payment status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- 1-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or General Ledger
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a big advantage.
- Knowledge of invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
