The
Accounting Team Lead oversees daily accounting operations, ensures the accuracy of financial records, and leads a team of accounting professionals. This role drives month-end closing, ensures compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP) and internal controls, and actively pursues continuous process improvements and automation.
- Supervise, mentor, and foster professional development for accounting staff.
- Assign workloads, monitor performance, provide continuous coaching, and conduct evaluations.
- Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
- Oversee general ledger activities, AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
- Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and review financial statements, analyzing data to provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audits.
- Ensure strict adherence to US GAAP, tax obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Research complex accounting standards and provide technical support on non-standard transactions.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement best practices, SOPs, and automation tools.
- Support ERP enhancements and system implementation initiatives to streamline workflows.
- Partner across cross-functional teams (Operations, HR, Finance) to support business needs.
- Address management inquiries and deliver ad-hoc financial analysis as requested.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA license preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in General Accounting or a related domain.
- 3+ years in a supervisory role with proven experience training staff and reviewing complex work.
- Hands-on expertise in general ledger management, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
- Experience in the US Healthcare industry is a plus.
