The Team Leader is responsible in managing end-to-end accounting operations, including month-end close, AP/AR, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. The role partners with leadership and oversees a small team while remaining hands-on in execution.
Job Description
• Supervises and reviews the work of a Senior Accountant while managing individual deliverables.
• Owns and manages the full monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, including onboarding and managing vendors and customers.
• Maintains a clean, audit-ready US GAAP ledger and supporting schedules.
• Prepares monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and board/investor reporting packages.
• Drafts and maintains accounting policies and procedure documentation.
• Prepares 1099s and supports tax and compliance filings in coordination with external advisors.
• Builds, documents, and improves accounting processes, controls, and systems as the company scales.
• Partners directly with the CFO on forecasting, fundraising support, audit readiness, and financial analysis.
• Performs hands-on accounting tasks alongside leadership responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrates strong knowledge in GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), capitalization, and contract accounting.
• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
• Shows the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Amenable to work in US business hours.
• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.
Screening Criteria
• CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, including exposure to US-based companies.
• Experience in public accounting (Big 4 or top-tier regional).
• Experience handling full-cycle accounting (month-end close, AP/AR, financial reporting).
• Experience in NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Must have stable employment history.
