Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

A. Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded

in the accounting system-Netsuite, on a daily basis.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the

Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

• Generate management reports (e.g., product-line profitability, cost of goods sold analysis

for cosmetics SKUs) to support decision-making by the leadership team.

• Conduct monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and

account reconciliations.

• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and intercompany transactions to

ensure accuracy and promptly resolve discrepancies.

B. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

• Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) process — review and approve supplier invoices,

monitor payment schedules, and maintain good vendor relationships (e.g., packaging

vendors, contract manufacturers).

• Oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) process — ensure timely invoicing to

distributors, retail partners, and online channels; monitor outstanding collections; and

follow up on overdue accounts.

• Maintain a weekly cash position report to support cash flow planning and alert

management to any liquidity concerns.

• Supervise the AP/AR Associate and review their work for accuracy and completeness.

C. Inventory Accounting

• Coordinate with the Operations and Warehouse teams on monthly inventory counts and

reconcile physical counts against system records.

• Monitor and record inventory movements — raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and

finished goods — and flag variances for investigation.

D. Tax Compliance & Government Remittances

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and schedules in compliance

with BIR regulations, including:

◦ Value Added Tax (VAT) — BIR Form 2550M / 2550Q

◦ Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT) — BIR Form 1601-EQ

◦ Annual Income Tax Return — BIR Form 1702

◦ Other applicable BIR filings and alphalist submissions

• Process and remit monthly government contributions on time: SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-

IBIG for all employees.

• Ensure the company maintains a complete and updated BIR Books of Accounts and is

prepared for tax audits or BIR examinations.

• Monitor regulatory updates from BIR, SEC, and other government agencies affecting

accounting and financial compliance.

E. Payroll Processing

• Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees,

including computation of gross pay, deductions, and net pay.

• Ensure correct calculation and remittance of mandatory deductions (SSS, PhilHealth,

Pag-IBIG, withholding tax).

• Process final pay computations for separated employees, including back pay, 13th month pay, and other separation benefits in accordance with DOLE regulations.

• Maintain confidential and organized payroll records and respond to employee payroll

inquiries.

F. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Develop, document, and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal

controls appropriate for a growing startup — including approval workflows, expense

guidelines, and segregation of duties.

• Identify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and recommend automation or

system improvements to reduce manual work and errors.

• Assist in the preparation of schedules and supporting documents for external audits and

ensure all audit requirements are met on time.

• Safeguard sensitive financial data and enforce information security policies in handling

financial records.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy (BSA) required.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a

supervisory or team lead capacity.

• Experience in a consumer goods, FMCG, retail, or manufacturing company is a strong

advantage (especially cosmetics, personal care, or beauty industry).

Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills

• Proficient in accounting software Netsuite

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).

• Solid knowledge of Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS/PFRS)

• Familiarity with inventory and cost accounting practices is a plus.

environment.

clearly to non-finance colleagues.
