Role Description

The Accounting Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring the absolute integrity of financial records, and driving tax compliance. Acting as a critical bridge between senior management and the accounting staff, this position is responsible for supervising general ledger activities, coordinating monthly and year-end closing processes, and preparing accurate, timely financial statements. A key focus of this role is tax strategy and administration; the Superintendent will actively monitor tax regulations, oversee the preparation of filings, and implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risk. By combining strong supervisory skills with analytical depth, the successful candidate will streamline workflows and provide the financial insights necessary to support strategic business decisions.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in a senior-level or supervisory capacity
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred
  • Strong background in tax compliance, including corporate tax filings, tax planning, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax laws
  •  Deep understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals in a collaborative environment
  • High proficiency in enterprise resource planning systems, advanced accounting software, and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
