About the Role
Live Payments is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for supporting the finance operations of Live Payments Philippine Representative Office.
This role offers a distinctive opportunity that combines the dynamics of a start-up with the potential for significant growth, enabling you to make a substantial impact right from the beginning.
Working closely with the Australian Finance team and our external accounting provider, you will ensure local financial transactions, payroll, tax compliance and statutory obligations are completed accurately and on time.
This role requires a strong understanding of Philippine accounting and tax regulations, together with the ability to interpret financial information, review work prepared by our external accounting provider, and support the Australian Finance team in maintaining an efficient and compliant finance function.
This role reports directly to theFinance Manager in Australia and works closely with cross-functional teams across the business.
The impact you will have:
Finance Operations
- Process accounts payable documentation, employee reimbursements and petty cash claims.
- Support payroll processing and statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG).
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the Australian Finance team.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records.
Accounting & Compliance
- Review financial reports, supporting schedules and statutory submissions prepared by the external accounting provider to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with Philippine accounting and tax requirements.
- Prepare and coordinate BIR tax filings and other statutory compliance requirements, including VAT, withholding tax and income tax.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities and government agencies as required.
- Monitor changes to Philippine tax legislation and recommend compliance improvements.
Business Support
- Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring and variance analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and internal controls.
- Work closely with the Australian Finance team and external accounting provider to support the finance function.
About you and the talents we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in accountancy
- CPA license is required.
- Minimum 5 years professional accounting experience with a strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and statutory reporting.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, BIR regulations and statutory compliance requirements, including VAT, withholding tax, income tax and government reporting obligations.
- Proven ability to review financial reports, identify accounting issues, and work effectively with external accounting providers, auditors and government agencies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data manipulation and financial analysis is an advantage.
- Experience using ERP systems (such as NetSuite) and supporting a multinational organization or overseas finance team, including within a Philippine Representative Office or similar foreign-owned operation, is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across local and international teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
