Job Description

Role Description

The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the client's Controller and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day transactional data requirements of assigned accounts. In addition, the role will support the preparation of special monthly reports and assist in maintaining accurate and timely financial records for the client.

Responsibilities

  • Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Process incoming payments by check, credit card, and EFT.
  • Receive, process, and reconcile statements.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Generate and review monthly reports.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
  • Prepare and make bank deposits.
  • Assist with preparation for annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Perform administrative and other tasks as needed. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 3+ years of general accounting experience, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence in client interaction
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy, organization, and time management skills
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
  • Experience with Hubdoc, Bill.com, or other cloud-based accounting tools is a plus
