We are looking for an accounting professional to support our outsourced accounting practice, with a focus on full-set accounting, management reporting and group consolidation for Singapore companies and client groups.
Job Summary
The Accounting Specialist / Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing full-set accounting, month-end closing, management accounts, statutory financial reporting and consolidation work for a portfolio of outsourced clients.
This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who is comfortable managing multiple Singapore entities, handling intercompany transactions, preparing consolidated financial information, and liaising with clients, auditors, tax agents and company secretaries. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work within agreed timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full-Set Accounting and Client Accounting Support
- Handle full sets of accounts for assigned Singapore companies and client groups.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset and bank reconciliation records.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for audit, tax and statutory reporting purposes.
- Ensure accounting records are properly maintained and supported by appropriate documentation.
2. Group Reporting and Consolidation
- Prepare simple / complex group consolidation management reports and supporting schedules for clients with multiple Singapore entities and/or regional subsidiaries.
- Manage intercompany balances, intercompany transactions and reconciliation differences.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Identify accounting issues arising from group structures, related party transactions and consolidation adjustments.
3. GST, Payroll and Compliance Support
- Prepare GST returns and assist with GST reconciliations.
- Support payroll processing, CPF submissions and related payroll reporting where required.
- Coordinate with tax agents on corporate income tax filings and tax schedules.
- Assist with statutory and regulatory filing support, where relevant.
- Monitor reporting deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned client deliverables.
4. Client Delivery and Stakeholder Management
- Act as the day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients.
- Liaise with clients to obtain accounting records, explanations and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial teams and other professional advisers.
- Respond to client queries on accounting, reporting and documentation matters.
- Escalate complex accounting issues or client matters to management in a timely manner.
- Support process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency and client service quality.
5. Systems, Process and Automation
- Use accounting software and Microsoft Excel to prepare accounts, schedules and reports.
- Maintain organised working papers and client accounting files.
- Support the adoption of automation, AI tools and improved workflows to enhance productivity.
- Contribute to the development of standardised templates, checklists and internal processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, Degree in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong experience in full-set accounting, month-end closing, GST reporting and financial reporting.
- Experience handling multiple entities or client portfolios is required.
- Experience with group consolidation is required.
- Prior experience in an accounting outsourcing firm, CPA firm, corporate services firm, audit firm or professional services environment will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
- Strong technical accounting foundation and attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and client deliverables independently.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Familiarity with Singapore accounting, GST, payroll and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced professional services environment.
- Familiarity with AI or automation tools to improve accounting workflows will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred, as the role may involve liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients and business partners.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote work environment.
